A row has erupted between the BCCI and the Government after Sachin Tendulkar’s name was not recommended for Bharat Ratna. Sachin’s quest for India’s highest civilian honour has been scuttled thanks to the inaction of both the authorities.Widely seen as a front-runner to win the award this year, Sachin’s name hasn’t even found its way into the nomination list.Hockey legend Dhyan Chand and mountaineer Tenzing Norgay are the only athletes who have been recommended for the award.For More Log on to — alpha.newsx.com

Sachin Tendulkar is all set to miss the Bharat Ratna this year. The sports ministry has not recommended Sachin’s name for the Bharat Ratna. The sports ministry did not forward Sachin’s name as it had not received a recommendation from the BCCI proposing Sachin’s name for the Bharat Ratna. The BCCI has come out in support of the senior Indian batsmen. Board Secretary Sanjay Jagdale has backed the Big 3 of Indian batting Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar under fire after a string of poor performances in the series against Australia. But the Board is standing by the trio and does not want to push the seniors into retirement. The BCCI Secretary claimed that the big three were under no pressure to quit and that they know when the right time to go is.
