Dashing batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan today (Januaru 23) stepped down as Sri Lanka captain following his side’s dismal performance in South Africa where they lost both the Test and ODI series. Yusuf Pathan Hat-Rick Sixes Vs Nathan McCullum_1st T20_2009
It was a second hat-trick of sixes in the Indian innings in this Match, this time by Yusuf Pathan. He got down on one knee and slogged Nathan McCullum’s first three deliveries over long-on but was caught while going for the fourth. The ball travelled flatter towards Oram at long-on who took the catch, pedalled backwards, quickly lobbed the ball in the air before going over the rope and caught it once again after coming back into play. It was reminiscent of Adam Voges’ catch at the same position in Sydney recently.

Uz played an unbelievable knock to get us into that position. And we probably looked at getting too many, it wasn’t a 160 wicket and sometimes when you do that, you fall well short and that happened to us. But hopefully we will learn from that but it was a fantastic effort from the bowlers to restrict like that. We knew the new ball was going to be crucial and from there on in, it’s always difficult to score in that middle period, especially with our spinners operating. And we are used to those types of conditions as we get them in Kolkata.”

SHAHRUKH KHAN SALUTES CHRIS GAYLE’S INNINGS
It took a former Knight to slay the Knight Riders’ hopes of getting back to winning ways. RCB’s Chris Gayle made a comeback to the Eden Gardens in grand style by smashing a century and winning the game for the Challengers. The innings must have been a difficult pill to swallow for KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, but he was magnanimous in defeat and praised Gayle’s brilliant batting.
